oh man. i can’t believe i’m a lorekeeper now but yeah give me a chance to talk about this. they kinda quieted down about it around Black Celebration cause they were getting BIG massive and gerard got married but there’s so much. mikey way had a thing with pete wentz when they were both on warped in 2005, complete with coy-flirty posting about each other on myspace. gerard way and frank iero made out on stage a LOT amongst other things. (you have to google “summer of like” and “frerard proof” respectively here. i can’t link to all of it there’s too fucking much.) gerard and bert mccracken have both talked about their affair being the inspiration for the “this is a song about getting fucked in the ass” song. there’s recordings of shows from the early 2000s with ray toro rolling around on the stage with his tongue down another guy’s throat. a lot of their lyrics talk about being the reject kids (which, yeah, ambiguous, but reveal me that doesn’t resonate) and doing drag (not so ambiguous).
