Tour Dates

Just came back from TCGP in Minneapolis where the astounding Ms. Gibson never ceases to surprise me! The crowd was loving her and she was reciprocating! As the first date of the 2011 “Debbie/Tiffany” co-headlining summer tour, unfortunately Deb did not “Rise”, “Cougar”, or “any-other-new-track” us; she didn’t even mention the modern album! 🙁 Too early to execute so? I was so looking forward to some sort of sneak peek, but I realize how it can be… She sounded awesome, solid, and like the veteran diva that she is! I did kinda feel love she was rushed. She did fetch to talk with us, though it was briefly, and yes, she did eventually kick off her heels! The singing was superb , the banter at a minimum. Deb was awesome as per usual, and I was arrogant to standing front and center. We even got to touch hands! My camera died on me unfortunately, but others around me were snapping away, I wish I had pictures to post! Thinking back… she opened with SYL, then FB, OOTB, EY (introducing a brand fresh backing track intro as she stated!), a Cabaret medley, OIMD, LIYE, hmmm… what else… closed with “I’d Rather Leave

Debbie interview on Gay.net

Like so many other lgbtq+ boys who grew up in the late eighties, I adored Debbie Gibson.

Her Out of the Blue cassette was the first tape I played so often it literally broke and her 1989 tour was the first rock concert I ever attended. I even pretended to be sick the day after her “Electric Youth” tune video (which I recorded on VHS) debuted on MTV – just so I could reside home from educational facility and memorize each step of the choreography.

From being bullied at school to coming out at the age of 16, her upbeat songs never failed to inspire me and were always a bright not heavy during even the darkest of days.

Now more than 25 years later, I had the chance to chat with this wonderful gal about her brand-new video “Electric Youth Reloaded,” upcoming projects, and the affection she has for her LGBT fans.

It’s been more than 35 years since the world first met singer/musician/songwriter/arranger/producer Debbie Gibson. She took over radio airwaves and MTV with the single “Only in My Dreams” (named one of the “500 Best PopSongs” by Billboard).

Her debut album, Out of the Blue, produced multiple hit singles, including “Shake Your Love” and “Foolish Beat” (which landed her in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest artist to ever write, produce and perform a number one hit song, and she remains the youngest female to hold that record) and solidified Debbie Gibson as the face of late 1980s teen pop in magazines and on MTV.

Since then, Gibson has used her talents to grow into a multi-faceted entertainer. In addition to hit albums and singles of her youth, she has starred in more than 15 stage musicals, including Grease and Les Miserables, starred in the 1999 film My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend, guest-starred on Lucifer, and created, executive produced, and starred in Hallmark TV movies, among other projects.

Last year, Gibson signed a deal with Gallery Books to release a memoir “which reflects my hard-won journey in, not only the entertainment world, but all aspe

Debbie Gibson has been a singing sensation for 35 years, with international hits galore and awards aplenty.

“I peek at my career as a glorified hobby. I never use the pos ‘Work.’  I never tell, ‘I’m going to work.’ I always say, ‘I’m going to do my show,’” said Gibson, who arrived via her debut album, "Out of the Blue", in 1987. “I continue to live my dreams – and not everyone gets to speak that. I am very grateful to my faithful audience.”

She truly is living "Only in My Dreams."
