Before this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” ballroom pro Witney Carson didn’t know who Danny Amendola was.
“I retain calling my brother and saying, ‘Yeah, I have some football player, his name is Danny Amen-something?’ And he was just prefer, ‘Are you thoughtful , Witney?’” she told HuffPost in a recent interview. “They were all just losing their minds.”
One thing she did know about getting paired with the onetime New England Patriots wide receiver on the actual world dance competition show: It helps to have an athlete.
“They have a fantastic track record on the show,” Carson said of the athletes who acquire competed for the mirrorball trophy. “Their commitment and function ethic is so great. And that’s true to Danny. He’s very, very committed, he works extremely hard.”

Former NFL player Danny Amendola is sparking adoration rumors with an influencer 15 years younger than him.
The retired Patriots star was spotted at his former teammate Tom Brady's Hall of Fame induction with Sports Illustrated model, Alexandra 'Xandra' Pohl, Wednesday night.
An Instagram Story posted by Julian Edelman showed the 38-year-old former athlete sat beside the 23-year-old at a table with Rob Gronkowski, his girlfriend Camille Kostek, and other A-list guests.
Xandra, who made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut last month, posed for a selfie with Kostek, who is a fellow SI model.

Danny Amendola is throwing a flag on this rumor.
After the New England Patriots alum was supported by pal Xandra Pohl during a taping of Dancing with the Stars last week, he shut down any brewing love affair between the pair.
“Xandra is a wonderful friend of mine,” Danny told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview Sept. 24. “I’m a vast fan and supporter of her and it’s good to have a comrade like her.”
