Tom Ford – The story of a successful lgbtq+ man
Tom Ford is one of today’s most flourishing fashion designers, his customers are world-travellers, cultured, opulent people, confident women, who are intelligent and understand their own style. His life was not this easy in the very beginning though: he was different from his mates, he wasn’t good at manly sports and wasn’t interested in guns either, which were quite accepted in his state, Texas. He was able to be himself and turn into successful by hard labor, and it can energize all of us.
Ford was born on 27th August, 1961 in Austin, Texas. He spent his childhood here with his parents. He was already interested in fashion as a young boy, he could decide what looks friendly, he designed his retain home, he chose the perfect furniture as successfully. He analised his mother’s looks, giving advice to her. Later he moved out of the dwelling and started his studies at art school. For a while he was acting, too, but it was just a brief period of his animation. Later on he learnt architecture, but it did not work out either.
He realised he was lgbtq+ at a young age, when he was 10. He marked out from other youngsters with his clothes and some people couldn’t deal with it.

Fashion designer and filmmaker Tom Ford is celebrating his 62nd birthday today!
I figure why not revisit his known belief all men should be sexually penetrated at least once.
‘I think it would help them understand women,’ Ford said in a 2016 interview with GQ.
‘It’s such a vulnerable position to be in, and it’s such a passive position to be in. And there’s such an invasion, in a way, that even if it’s consensual, it’s just very personal.’
The openly gay director of Nocturnal Animals and The Single Man had made a similar remark in a previous GQ profile during which he also propositioned the male scribe.
This time around he seemed reluctant to go there again but once it was brought up, the noted designer stood by what he said before and went on to clarify more about why he feels that way.
‘I believe there’s a psyche that happens because of (penetration) that makes you comprehend and appreciate what women go through their whole existence, because it’s not just
In a recent interview with Vogue‘s Liam Hess, world-renowned fashion designer, Tom Ford, shared a more in depth story of his career, sexuality and relationships.
Despite his love for clothes, Ford revealed that it wasn’t initially his childhood dream. “Unlike many fashion designers, designing clothes was not something that I had dreamt of as a miniature child. I was indeed obsessed with clothes and very, very particular about what I wore and did often give my mother—and in fact my entire family—advice (instructions, really!) about how to dress and wear their hair. I guess looking back at my childhood it was inevitable that I would one morning be drawn to fashion as a career.”
The 60-year-old fashion designer also joint how he realized his sexuality saying, “As for kind that I was gay, it wasn’t really something that I figured out until my overdue teens, but then looking back at my childhood it all made instinct, and I realized that I had actually had crushes on many of my best friends. However, I had girlfriends throughout lofty school, felt that I was in love with them, and had a great sex life.”
Ford further stated, “Even occas
Self-made, fabulously successful fashion designer/film maker Tom Ford celebrates his 56th birthday today (born August 27, 1961 in Austin, TX). He grew up in Santa Fe, NM, but moved to NYC while in his late teens, ending up with a degree in architecture (!) from Parsons. Along the way he studied art history and fashion, taking breaks to act in television commercials, followed by a year and a half in Paris – with his eyes extensive open.
Fast forward – obeying stints in major positions at iconic fashion houses such as Perry Ellis, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, he launched his own luxury brand in 2006, and sunglasses have never been the same. He designs for both men and women – clothing, shoes, bags, eyewear, fragrances, makeup – winning major awards while practicing his exacting craft. Responding to criticism that he objectified women, Ford stated he is an "equal opportunity objectifier" and is "just as content to objectify men".
On the horizon was a whole other career as a film director, screenwriter and film producer. In 2009 he wrote, produced, financed and directed “A Single Man,” an adaptation of Christopher Isherwood̵
