Queer history is occupied of groups and individuals that took a stay against injustices, fought to change discriminatory laws, advocated for acceptance, and spoke out for those who might otherwise remain marginalized.  Studying this history can inspire and educate us as we face progressing challenges in society such as homophobia, transphobia, attacks on women’s rights, and a willingness to obliterate any mention of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Archives of Sexuality and Gender: Society and Identity in North America (ASG VI) offers interesting perspectives on community, sexual identity, community building, and gender issues.  It presents a history of North American society with materials that cover campaign, social justice issues, disabilities, women’s rights, alternative sexualities, sexuality and religion, and ethnic communities.  The collections detail how identities developed in different social conditions, and how communities grew around dedicated, sometimes courageous, individuals and organized groups.

MHA denies taking any stand on queer sex; refutes ASG's position

NEW DELHI: Shortly after a highest law officer disapproved gay sex as highly "immoral" in the Supreme Court, the Home Ministrytoday said it has not taken any stand on the Delhi High Courtorder decriminalising homosexuality.

It said the Attorney General has been asked only to assist the apex court.

In a hurriedly-issued urge statement, the Abode Ministry said the matter was considered by the Cabinetand the decision of the Cabinet was that Central Governmentmay not file an appeal against the judgement to the Supreme Court.

"However, if any other party to the case prefers an appeal, the Attorney General may be requested to assist the Supreme Court to examine the matter and to determine the legal questions involved," the expression said.

The Home Ministry conveyed the choice of the Union Cabinetto the Attorney General.

Gay community wants ASG Malhotra sacked for saying homosexual sex is “highly immoral and against social order”

The same-sex attracted community has asked for the sacking of Additional Solicitor General (ASG), PP Malhotra after his Supreme Court declaration calling gay sex “highly immoral and against social order”. On Thursday, Malhotra, claiming to be appearing for the home ministry, made the statement to the court against decriminalising homosexuality.
Shortly after his declaration, the home ministry distanced itself from the statement, saying it had not taken any endure on the Delhi High Court organize decriminalizing homosexuality.

Members of the lesbian, queer , bi-sexual and genderqueer (LGBT) community and supporters say that they are deeply hurt by what Malhotra said.
